Don't you wish....

...you could sleep this well? ha:)We were gone all day on Thursday and Harper was pooped yesterday.I was sitting around working on paperwork and on the computer and I just couldn't quit staring at her wishing I slept this well. Since Harper has arrived, I hear every peep she makes and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I had my post partum visit Thursday and everything went very well. Next on our agenda is Harper's two month visit in August! Just typing that makes me so sad....why does time have to go by so quickly?!? We have waited our whole lives for this and it just seems to be flying past us! While we were in Murfreesboro, I decided to call Harper's dr. back because she has had a little cold. We took her to the walk-in clinic two weeks ago today and he told us to do little noses and suction her out before every feeding. We've been doing that and she really hasn't gotten better. I even went and bought some Baby Vick's the other day and tried that...nothing. So, on Thursday, her eyes began to matt together. Well, of course, they wanted to see her, so luckily we were already down there and got right in. He said to keep doing what we were doing and to give her a little Pedialyte after each feeding....and I'm happy to say she's doing a little bit better. While we were there, they weighed her again....and guess what....she weighs 10lbs. and 13oz.!!!! I couldn't believe it. I knew she was really beginning to fill out, but I didn't figure she had gained that much!

Some people are always asking how things are going. Well, let me just tell you....I feel like I have a different baby on my hands! I haven't wanted to post about this because I was afraid people would criticize me....but I don't care anymore. She is happier and so am I!

So, we are 100% on formula now! She was just fussing all the time and was having a lot of trouble with belly aches and not being content. SO, since I have to go back to work soon, I decided to start trying to get on a routine where I could feed her in the morning and at night and put her on formula during the day. WELL, she was soooo much more content after the bottle feedings that I decided to try just formula on Sunday to see how she did. Oh my...we had a different baby on our hands! She didn't fuss...she ate and slept. It was so nice! It makes us both much happier!

Along with that note, she has been sleeping for 6 hours at a time at night! We have finally figured it out a little bit. Brandon stays up with her and I go on to bed. He usually put her down between 11 and 12 and then she sleeps until anywhere between 5 and 6. Hallelujah! :) Then I get up with her and we go back to bed after her feeding. Once I start back to work, I'll just stay up and get ready after this feeding.

So, like I said before, we are much happier....

Who couldn't be happy with this adorable baby by their side?

Also, I have something very, very special to me that I wanted to share with you. On our anniversary and Harper's one month, we ate dinner over at Brandon's parents house before church. When we walked in, there were two gift boxes laying there....one with Harper's name and one with ours. Well, Aunt Randi had bought Harper a bib that says "I love my Auntie." Too, too cute! I bought one for my niece as well when she was a baby, so I'm glad Harper has one now too.

Then, we opened our box....it was from Harper! ha:) It was a poem written to us. (I think she probably had a little help from Aunt Randi writing it all out!) Well, I was a teary mess after reading it. It was so sweet and so special and I still get teary-eyed every time that I read it. It's something that I will always cherish and I asked Randi if I could share it with all of you and she said I could. I wish I could write this well!

Here was our anniversary present from Miss Harper....

Mom & Dad,

Look at me a month old today
If I could talk, what would I say?

I’d probably start with how I’m glad you two decided to date,
And that Dad popped the question and chose Mom as his mate.

Without those marriage vows you took three years ago tonight,
You wouldn’t have me lying here with eyes so blue and bright.

I know I have lots of things: books, toys, and clothes,
But more importantly I have love more than anybody knows.

I know you two are great parents; you love me with all your might,
You’ll be a good example, and always raise me right.

The truth is that I’m growing up and time is going fast,
I can’t believe that one month has already come and passed.

So when everyone tells you that the house and dishes can wait,
It’s true, let’s play because before long I’ll start to date.

No, that will be a while if Dad has any say,
But that’s okay because I’m his girl and wouldn’t want it any other way.

And, Mom, you know we have this bond that only we will know,
So enjoy our time together, sit back, and watch me grow.

So Mom and Dad you see, you have a love so rare,
And I just want to say “Happy Anniversary” and I love you, Harper Claire!

The Lord has blessed us way beyond what we deserve!

xoxo,
