I'm obsessed.....

When everyone at school was going crazy over this book, I said I'd never read a stupid book about vampires.  Well, guess what???  I decided I would give it a try, and I am totally ADDICTED!  It is really soooooo good!  Even though I kinda already know what will happen, I have to finish reading the series.  If you haven't broken down and read it yet, go ahead.  You'll love it and it totally consumes you in the storyline!  You forget it's about vampires and totally fall in love with them.  lol

GOD IS GOOD.....

Praise the lord....our GIRL is HEALTHY!  We went for our ultrasound this morning and as soon as the tech pulled it up, she said "It's a girl!"  I asked if she was sure and she said positive!  I feel so much better now!!!  Before we left, I said, "So, there's no way this could turn into a boy?"  and she said, "Not without some serious surgery!" lol  The ultrasound tech was so sweet and funny and explained everything to us in great detail and was very patient!  She was able to see all of her little head and get all the measurements so that was a blessing!  Then, she saw all four chambers of her heart and aorta, but never could see the septum because she WOULD NOT, let me repeat WOULD NOT roll over for anything.  She poked, wiggled, proded, everything trying to get this baby to move......and she was having NO part of it!  She's already a little stubborn and I don't have any idea where she could possibly get that from?  heehee :)  But, who cares.  She is a she and she is healthy!  The tech said it was not uncommon to not be able to see it at this time in the pregnancy.  Being a diabetic, I will go back at 24 weeks and have a very detailed examination of her heart and she said they'd see it then!  I am so excited and feel so relieved!  Below are some of her glamour shots......

Harper with her mouth open.....again, I have no idea where she gets it from? lol

Evidence.....

While the tech was trying to get her to budge, she made this little hand motion and she thought it was so cute.  It looked like she was shooting at her! lol  Our little girl already has attitude! :)

I want your opinion....

I found this bedding a while ago and I ran back up on it today and I think I still like it. lol  I feel like there are endless decorating possibilities with this set and it's in my price range! lol  What do you think?  I see polka-dots on the walls, lamp shade, ....everywhere!!!   Tell me your opinion and be honest.....

Ultrasound....

Tomorrow is the big day....AGAIN!  We go back tomorrow to make sure that Miss Harper Claire is for sure a girl.....if not, we'll have some bows to return and boy stuff to pull out. lol  Also, we will hopefully see all of her little parts this time.  I'm not going to drink too much caffeine before I go so maybe she'll cooperate a little more.  They are going to be looking for all the parts of her heart and brain and checking to get a clear picture of gender again!  I just know in my heart that it's a girl now....or at least I feel like it!  :)  Again, we could care less about gender, we just want to know for sure so everyone will leave us alone :) and not say, "So, it still could be a boy?"  That has been the most aggravating part!  I just want this baby to be healthy....I know that's what every pregnant woman hopes for and I am no different...... Also, another snow day wouldn't hurt either!  When they tell us for sure, I am going to want to do some more shopping! lol Thanks for remembering us in your prayers! xoxo

Thanks for your help!!! xoxo

First Purchase.....

I want this to be one of the first things I buy...........

Busy Baby......

Well, at our ultrasound Tuesday, the baby was not very cooperative to say the least....she is quite the busy body....wonder where she gets that from??? haha:)  Anyway, I was ecstatic that she was healthy.  But, I kinda left disappointed to say the least.  I am thankful and beyond blessed for this to have been so easy for us so far, but I just really wanted them to say "Oh my goodness, its positively a girl/boy!"  That didn't happen. lol  She kept sticking her foot in her crotch and rolling around.  Therefore, they did not get the 'money shot' that they want to be 100% sure of her gender.  She saw her girly parts twice and wrote down in the paperwork that it was a girl....but there's still that inkling of a chance....and I CAN NOT STAND IT!!!!!  Now, I KNOW it's a girl!  I just feel it in my heart.....don't get me wrong....I do not care either way as long as its healthy.....I just want to know for sure!  I've gotta get some stuff with her name on it....SOON! lol  But anyway, onto the other point, they were able to see all of her arms and legs and measure the bones well which is a big concern in diabetics, so that was great.  But, being so active, they were not able to see all the parts of the heart and back of her head.  At this point, I did not freak out at all because I've heard of this kind of thing happening all the time.  Then, when I met with the doctor, she acted like it was no big deal and that they'd do another one in 6-8 weeks.  Well, guess what?  They called me at work the next day and said nothing was wrong, but they wanted to go ahead and get some more images.....next week!  I am trying not to think about it and be positive since they'll be able to look for her girly parts again and hopefully tell me for sure, but I am a little worried.  I don't know why.....yes I do, because I have turned into a worry wort (thanks to you know who.....I <3 U)!  But, I would like for you to please keep us in your prayers as we go back for another ultrasound....please pray that they will see all of her heart and brain so that I won't worry myself to death!  I know it is in God's hands and I fully trust he will take care of us, and no matter what, we will love, take care, and spoil this baby like crazy!  I would just like for you to please pray for me to have peace and patience as we wait for this appointment and that our blessing is perfectly healthy!  Please pray..... XOXO

The day my family's world changed.......

Today marks the day that our beautiful, precious, sweet niece was born!  She turns 1 today!!!  I can NOT believe it has already been a year.  She is more precious and loved than she will ever know.  After several years of waiting, my brother and sister-in-law finally received the gift they had longed for....and so did we.  We have gotten closer with our family and grown to love each other more since she came into this world!  I love her like she is my own and I'd do anything for this child!  I can't wait for our little girl to get here so they can be the best of friends. lol

Dear Madelyn,

I hope you have the best first birthday that you could ever dream of.  My wish for you is that you'll always be happy and healthy and know how much you are loved and appreciated.  Always know that your family loves you no matter what and that we are here for you if you ever need anything.  You have brought so much love and joy to our family for the last year and I can't wait to watch you grow and change.  Please remember to always be a good little girl and we love you more than words can explain!  Happy 1st Birthday Sassy!  We love you!

Snow sounds Super!!!!!!!

Well, who doesn't love some snow????  I know every teacher in the world probably LOVES it more than one person should. heehee  We got out of school Friday because of the frigid weather and then Monday was MLK day!  Now, we've gotten out TWO more days because of the snow!!!  I could stand to be off all week...it has been sooooo nice to sleep in and stay at home in my pj's all day!  What do I need to be doing??  Ummm....grading papers, paperwork for my evaluations, learning how to use my xmas present lol, etc.  There's plenty I should be doing, but I'd rather sit here in my big comfy chair and do nothing!  Hope everyone is enjoying this winter wonderful!  Stay Warm! xoxo

My Favorite time of the year....CHRISTMAS!!!

Well, as always, we were BUSY, BUSY, BUSY this year at Christmas time.  But, we loved every second of it, except I was sick part of the time.  It seems like I always get sick on either Thanksgiving or Christmas and this was the year for it to fall on Xmas.  But, I enjoyed myself anyways!  We, of course, got way too much and we also got a lot of neat things for the baby!  yay! I'm so excited.

First, on Christmas eve, we went to my parents house for breakfast.  As you can see, we had a wonderful time....as did Madelyn! lol  She loves presents as much as we do! haha :)  But, we really enjoyed watching her and appreciating what God brought to our family.  She is such a blessing and we feel so fortunate to have her as our niece.

Isn't she beautiful??? :)

The kitchen set from Aunt KK and Uncle B...

Ignore how I look!  I was sick, remember? lol  But I still love sweatshirts!

I love these 2 sets of blue eyes more than words can describe!  These 2 together make my heart melt!

These are solid cherry rocking chairs that my Mama and Daddy had made for their first home when they were married over 30 years ago.  They had them refinished and gave them to us for our nurseries.  I LOVE them!

First Christmas picture in their new house!

Rachel and Madelyn....there is not one picture where everyone is looking at the camera! lol

Emily and Rob in their matching hoodies....aren't they the sweetest little couple?

The Much Anticipated Master's Graduation!

I started going back to school in January 08 to work toward my Master's degree.  Never did I think I would finish in a year....but I did it!  It was not easy, however, and without Brandon and my parents, I just don't know if I could've made it through.  It also really helped that I was going through this experience with some great friends...so big thanks to you too!  Well, after a hard year of classes and homework, I graduated with my Master's of Arts degree in Instructional Leadership on December 13, 2008!  I was very proud of this accomplishment....I always wanted to get my master's, but I don't know that I ever really thought it would be a reality!  It was great but I am soooooo glad that it is behind me!

Halloween & Thanksgiving 2008

Well, this was our first year to actually have someone to go see all dressed up.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves this year watching and playing and loving on and spoiling lol our niece, Madelyn.  She is the most precious thing you've ever seen.....or at least we all think so.  Here are some pics from October and November!

And then, we had some wonderful friends stop by with their little princess this Halloween as well.  She has been so much fun to watch grow and learn all of her little tricks over the past year and a half.  We have enjoyed playing and practicing with their daugther in preparation for our own kiddos. lol  She was a pretty pink poodle!

Hello Blogging World!

Okay...it seems like all I do is look at other people's blogs, and since everyone is constantly asking about how we are doing with the pregnancy, I thought I'd break down and just blog too!  We'll see how this goes.  As most of you know, we are expecting our first child this summer, so this will be a way for me to keep everyone who cares :) posted on what's going on!  For a while, this blog may go a little backwards while I play catch up....but I'll try my best.  Hope you are all doing well.
